Insurances
BiSHA provides important insurance cover for its members and affiliated clubs. This section covers the centralised scheme and other optional insurance schemes available through BiSHA Members Insurance Services.
For: All registered members, coaches and officials up to and including age 70.
Scope of Cover: Worldwide 24 hours/365 days. Whilst practising, training and competing under the auspices, control or direction of the Insured provided that such activity is within the terms of remit of the Association and/or Club, including travelling to and from any such venue for the purposes of these activities.

Permanent Total Disability (PTD) is payable where:
i) The injured person can never return to his/her gainful occupation or any other occupation for which they are fitted by knowledge and training;
ii) Those in full time education, unemployed, or who have never been in full time gainful employment can never be gainfully employed.
Exclusions
i) You are not covered if you have taken any drugs, unless prescribed by a medical practitioner;
ii) During pregnancy;
iii) Any pre-existing condition, whether physical or mental;
iv) At any other time other than stated under Scope of Cover above.
Additional Cover: Accidental Death Benefit
Clubs can increase the Accidental Death Benefit cover, for players, coaches and officials (age 16 and over) to a maximum of £50,000.

For: All registered members aged 16 to 65
Operative Time: Cover is operative in respect of a bodily injury sustained whilst playing, training, practising, coaching or officiating under the guidance, control or direction of the Insured Association and/or Club provided such activity is within the remit of the Association and/or Club. This includes a bodily injury sustained whilst travelling directly to and from these activities. Worldwide cover.
Benefit: Provides a weekly income benefit of £75.00 per week for up to 52 weeks should you be unable to work as a result of a bodily injury sustained as mentioned above.
If, at the time of incurring the injury, you are a student (aged 16 or over), housewife or unemployed, the benefit is limited to £20.00 per week for up to 26 weeks.
Note: Cover is in respect of a bodily injury and does not include illness.

For: The Association, Clubs and all registered Members.
Scope of Cover: For the Association and all affiliated clubs covering BiSHA activities. Cover includes all members, coaches and officials, voluntary workers and employees registered with the Association and/or Club, whilst playing; training, practising or other activity provided such activity is within the remit of the association and/or Club. Cover extends to include all BiSHA sanctioned events.
Employers Liability: £10,000,000 Unlimited in any one period of insurance
Product Liability: £1,000,000 In all in aggregate in any one period of insurance
Public Liability: £2,000,000 Unlimited in any one period of insurance
Cover includes: Accidental third party property damage and bodily injury. All acts of negligence, Errors and Omissions, Interests of Principals such as Local Authorities, Leased or rented premises, Libel, Slander & Fraud, Member to Member.

BiSHA have teamed up with travel insurance company Citybond Suretravel to provide our members with an online facility for purchasing travel insurance at specially reduced rates.
Follow the instructions to go online and obtain a policy for your travel needs via the internet:
- Go to www.suretravel.co.uk
- In the Agent Reference box, enter the code BRI05
- Select the relevant scheme for your needs (e.g. Trip Travel 2007/2008 for a short stay)
- Click the text that says “Click Here to get an online quote”
- Enter the appropriate trip details (e.g. area of travel, duration, cover type)
- Skater hockey is not classed as a winter Sport
- Start date should be entered dd/mm/yyyy (with the forward slashes)
- When all details entered (including total number of travellers in the correct age categories), click Next button
- Your quotation will be displayed and you can click Next to purchase
- Please make sure that all material facts and medical conditions of the travellers have been or will be declared
- Enter details for each traveller as requested
- Click Next to proceed with payment
POLICY DOCUMENTS
When payment is made, you will be taken to a page that will give you the opportunity to print and save your Validation Certificate, policy wording and sporting endorsement.
You will also receive an email which has links to the relevant documents.
ENDORSEMENT
All persons listed on the validation certificate are cleared for practising and competing in skater hockey and associated activities undertaken by clubs and persons in connection with BISHA as described on the sporting endorsement.
